I would say sports is your best bet. Colleges don't only want smart students but, well rounded ones. You have worked already (which you must mention) and then you can mention that you are currently part of a sports team. So when someone is reading you application, they will see work and sports on the application. Work is good b/c it shows responsibility and maturity while sports always looks good. Participating in sports scores high marks when applying for college ). Also, if i may suggest to you some other things for the college process. You should do some kind of community service and get involved in school activities, and clubs/groups in school. Another thing i want to mention is the SAT's. You shouldn't take it more then 3 times and emphasize on the critical reading and math sections. You want a minimum score of 1000 combined on just those two sections. If you can't do well on the sat's try the ACT exam which colleges will except but, it's easier then the SAT's. Also, start early on your college essay and focus alot on it b/c it can save you. Sorry for straying off topic from your question but, i felt i had to mention some things to you since I've been there. Best of luck and be prepared to work hard but, that's the only way to get into a good college
References :
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT
